Stuck in Summoner's Sanctum Illustrator: Susumu Kuroi
Once again, Hedy Burress nailed the delivery here. Yuna's words are laced with what I can only describe to be a shared pain. I think she was gently reaching out here because, in theory, Isaaru understands the fayth connection on a level that neither Rikku nor Paine ever could. But in practice… R and P were the ones by her side at the temples, and this interaction was all there was of its kind between summoners.
Personally, I would have loved for Yuna to have been able to confide in another summoner, but it wasn't realistic if you consider who else was left. Isaaru, who is no stranger to selling out, became a shameless businessman, and Dona's ego always smothered any opportunity for introspection. Both of them were occupied with living their own lives, which is fair. But Yuna carried the burden of the temples all on her own, and I think those two knew she would.
Lenne is the only "present" summoner who could let herself feel this type of pain on the same scale Yuna could, but she's long passed. She counts only because she uniquely lives on within a dressphere.
Yuna can wear Lenne's pain, and this is the closest she can get to feeling understood. Throughout the game, she seeks a connection. It becomes the one driving force behind her remaining a sphere hunter after discovering it was Shuyin in the starting sphere – not Tidus.
I think one of the overlooked reasons Yuna held onto Tidus for so long was because she felt so desperately alone.
Stuck in Summoner's Sanctum
(Scryfall Link)
This card depicts the Summoners Dona and Isaaru as well as Isaaru's brothers Maroda and Pacce while they are attacked in Summoner's Sanctum.
Summoner's Sanctum is an area in Home, the Al Bhed fortress. The Al Bhed kidnap Summoners such as Dona and Isaaru to keep them from completing their pilgrimage to kill Sin, as this also results in the Summoner's death and subsequent reincarnation as Sin.
When the party arrives at Home, it is under attack by the Guado. While fighting the Guado, the also save the trapped Summoners.
The card represents Dona and Isaaru being unable to do anything by making a creature unable to do anything.
