Ravenclaw Grace Brisbane enjoys her life at Hogwarts with her best friends fellow Ravenclaw Olivia and Gryffindor Rachel. Then the shy loner Hufflepuff Sam Roth catches her eye and Grace starts to notice that he's absent at least once a month. It also happens to coincide with the giant wolf she sees on the grounds late at night when everyone else is asleep. She's not the only one with her suspicions. Slytherin Isabel Culpepper lost her brother to a werewolf attack when they were younger and has since become obsessed with the creatures. She too notices Sam's timely absences and wants to confront him. Somehow through the course of this, Grace and Isabel wind up friends and Sam gets dragged into Grace's life almost kicking and screaming. It helps that they're kind of a little instantly in love with each other. With Isabel comes a whole new life of rule breaking that Sam and Grace can't believe they partake in. Including sneaking out to Hogsmeade to see a popular band play- one that happens to star Slytherin Cole St. Clair. Cole and Isabel wind up making out after the show and that's when Isabel discovers Coles werewolf scratches. He tells her that he doesn't change although it's not for a lack of trying and Isabel can't believe he was willing to go after a werewolf in the hopes of being changed. She wants nothing to do with him after that. Too bad her heart seems to disagree.
