@ajax-daughter-of-telamon @isabelknight - Hahaha, thanks! I thought they were both pretty cute too.
There may be further photo updates in the somewhat near future. 😁

Knock out the walls on those little bitches for moar training space! You may be on to something here!

Right?? My thoughts exactly. I suck at doing the bare minimum to keep our little house clean. Ain’t no way I’m cleaning those big houses with rooms we don’t need. Although if we work off @isabelknight’s idea and turn them into a dog training space...less cleaning required....

I'm speaking from very limited experience here, but when my gay/crazy/disabled friend group was sort of half-seriously discussing a rural commune, we were about a dozen people with a range of issues (and a financial model that was based around exportable skilled trade rather than traditional agriculture), so the idea was that it was unlikely we'd *all* have simultaneous flares/bad pain days/meltdowns on the same day.
Fair enough. I tend to think of groups as “extremely likely to explode in flaming drama,” so I’m probably the wrong person to share your Xcore fantasies with in the first place

What's your favorite hot beverage, and the best kind of vessel to drink it from?
Ohhh man, I have to pick just one? Yikes!
Hot chocolate drunk from a nice hand-thrown stoneware mug. The warmth, the sweetness (but not TOO sweet!), the steam. Mmmmm! I love hot chocolate.
That said, runners up are hot cider and hot peppermint and fennel tea. The peppermint and fennel tea tastes horrible, but it helps my IBS so it has come to have VERY soothing and pleasant connotations and I very much enjoy it now.
Asks are open! Send a thousand!
isabelknight replied to your post “So I took Lola to the vet to get her chest xrayed today. The vet took...”
My experience has always been having the vet show them to me and explain what they mean, so it seems weird he wouldn't show them to you.
Yeah, I would think that’s how it should be..I just really don’t know what to think now. Knowing how difficult Lola is to even get to lay down at the vet and how short of time he was gone with her to have xrayed her and gotten the xray developed. Makes me wonder if it was even done? How still do they have to be when getting an xray?
At her first vet visit there were three of us trying to hold her down to shave her belly to look for a spay scar and she was fighting us the whole time panicking and trying to get up. I honestly thought he was going to bring her back today telling me they couldn’t do the xray, or that she would need sedation for it. He brought her back going on about how good she was and willing and whatnot and I know that didn’t happen...I originally wanted to get a copy of the xrays but I didn’t want to seem distrustful of them when I was there. They were all very friendly to me :/
Ugh maybe I’m just really overthinking it and just not used to how a different vet does things. My regular vet is extremely thorough in explaining and showing everything to me so this was definitely different.

@isabelknight - Thanks! They're giving me as much as they can as either liquid or tablets that you dissolve in water.
But, there are a couple of extended release things (both for pain, so yeah) which can't be crushed up or anything. Thankfully, those are also both relatively small.
While they are usually wanting to get hung up some too now, and it still feels awful? At least I know from experience now that they will go down once they have a chance to dissolve around the edges a little.
Which the first one I took just a little while ago was actually pretty quick to do this morning, though the one in there now seems to be wanting to take longer.
@isabelknight - Oh wow, that does sound like fun! 😑
Like you say, glad they are taking things seriously. But, probably nobody needs the extra work on short notice.

I mean, to be fair, the group did indeed explode in flaming drama (over weirdly trivial things) years before our planned start date, so you may indeed be on to something there! But I think the appeal of a community vs an individual move to a rural area is the idea of interdependence and shoring one another up - kind of overlapping abilities vs lone pioneer mentality.
aaaand this is why i think there are at least two sorts of people, some of whom feel that george carlin quote and some of whom don’t
like, i read that and think i’m sharing a bathroom with who the fuck now
