So it’s been two weeks since school started. Things are wild. Post-flood clean up, loads of homework, upcoming quizzes and tests, work, friends, everything.
This semester I started working in the Math Lab. Students taking the lower level math course must spend 3 hours in the lab each week. They work on homework, quizzes, studying, anything. If they have questions, they’re welcome to raise their hand and a tutor (i.e. me) comes and helps them. The job is okay, not my favorite. I work there 12.5 hours a week and 6 per week with Jane. I get paid more for the math lab and get $.50 raise each semester. With Jane, I get the same raise per academic year, so that kinda sucks.
The math lab is silent. I never got a chance to actually meet my coworkers because of the flood. We’re not really a team because of it. We just work in the same building at the same time but not work together.
I do miss Isabella’s but I can’t really admit that. I don’t miss the shitty customers, the inability to supply myself with the materials necessary to do my job. I just miss the family.
