Day 17 @ #中里太郎右衛門陶房 #見習 I wasn't on a break or anything during the 4 days post of mizusashi, I was busy working on new mitsusashi and chyawan. I tested out some new clay, it's takes skills to throw... At first I used Sensei's #tosenbo, I thought that was hard to throw as it was coarse and hard compared to what we use in Australia. But now using the other clays, I realized Sensei's tosenbo was possibly the easiest to throw. Kubo SAN said it is "almighty"🤣🤣🤣 now I finally understand. The other clays have high content of sand, it breaks apart easily, has no tolerance to water, but because of the sand, you couldn't throw with out water. With most Australian clay I can throw with minimum amount of water, but I couldn't do it with these clay, it just rips right off from the body! You couldn't move it as quickly as you wish either! You have to throw with certain amount of water, but then it becomes really soft. I haven't find the limit of it yet. Please press like if you like what you see!
