Kaiho Maru Restaurant (海宝丸)

I went on a research tour to Oshima, Munakata. 🌊 For lunch, we stopped by Kaiho Maru, a local seafood restaurant near the port.

They told us it would be “just sashimi” — so I was thinking something light...

NOPE. What came out was a giant merry-go-round of sashimi! There was a mountain of fish on top, rice packed underneath, plus many side dishes and miso soup!

It was delicious, but the portion was so big I couldn’t finish it 💦 At the end, I turned to my colleague and quietly said, "負けました (I lost...) 😂"

If you love seafood, this is the place for you! Super fresh, super filling — food coma guaranteed. 🐟💤
