My angry boy needs hugs <3

Damian found himself pacing the open field behind the house. 

His hands were shaking. 

“It can’t be. No. There can’t be more like me. No more. I swore, they can’t hurt my family.” He doesn’t realize when he switches from Trade to Qunlat. He can feel the static charging the air. 

“Damian,” Iseran’s voice rings out across the field. “Damian, stop.”

Damian glances up at Iseran, at his adopted father. And his eyes begin to mist. Fists clenching so hard that his grey knuckles start turning white. 

“They won’t take you! I won’t let them!” His voice cracks. Heavy with guilt. 

“They won’t. No one will. Damian you must calm down,” Iseran moves forward slowly, keeping his hands in view. “Bull gave us more than enough time to react.”

“I should have killed them all. I should have known that they would have come after you again. They never stop, they can’t, always pushing, always breaking, more, always demanding more... moremoremore.”

“You need to breath, you’re panicking.” The elf presses his hand against Damian’s arms. Ignoring the small shocks that run against his skin. Damian falls to his knees, his eyes wide with panic.

“I swore. I promised I wouldn’t hurt you, or Will, ever again. My being here hurts you, they found you because of me....”

“Hush,”Iseran gathers Damian into his arms. Wrapping them about the Qunari’s shoulders. “You didn’t do this. You cannot blame yourself for every person who decides they have a grudge kid. We can handle this, you don’t need to worry.”

Damian can only nod, letting himself be wrapped into the hug. 

Calming down while in the arms of one of the men he now called father.

A man he would protect, for all that he had given him. For all that he owed the both of them.
