from weekend to week-end

well, almost midweek actually, but never mind:) 

first stop during the weekend (well there were more errands before this one), was the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre. Had no idea about this space, really liked the building, but not sure about Berengaria, the exhibition. A few nice pieces, but could be a bit better, more researched maybe... more depth..?.. 

then at raw for a drinks and music event. no music in the end, I mean live music, but we met, we had raw pizza, we drunk our zambartas xynisteri and we had a nice friday evening. 

next day, typographic days at tepak, and our dearest myri presenting her work during her very fun and interesting speech. 

and then the opening of the international short films festival at rialto theatre where I am volunteering. very nice films this year! check them out. 

and monday back to work with my new hairdo and loooovin it!

ÉCU’S PARTNER ISFFC IS OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS

Announcement for the new International Short Film Festival of Cyprus - Call for Entries

ÉCU’s festival partner, International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, is now open for submissions. Interested parties are invited to submit their entries no later than July 10th, 2012. The festival will take place at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol, October 13th through the 20th, 2012.

The Ministry of Education and Culture and Rialto Theater announce that the Short Film and Short Documentary Festival has been upgraded to the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC). The aim of the festival is to promote and propagate the production of short films and to develop a spirit of friendship and cooperation among filmmakers. ISFFC has as its main objective the promotion of cinematographic art by presenting a diverse showcase of short films from around the globe. It also aspires to present the work of talented filmmakers who successfully use creative cinematic language forms and effectively tell a story in a short film. It is an annual event. Fiction, documentaries, experimental, student and animation short films not exceeding 25 minutes in length are eligible for participation in the festival’s competition. Cypriot films compete for both the international awards and the national awards of the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. Cypriot Directors who live and work in Cyprus or abroad are entitled to submit their work. Foreign films running the international contest for 2012 are selected and invited by the Artistic Committee, comprised by directors Alexia Roider and Ioakim Mylonas. The right to participate is reserved for films that were not shown in any other festival in Cyprus.
