i have this one au where ishmael is a fucked-up species of siren but that's mainly because she's from the royal bloodline of her kind (like actual siren princess type beat) and then she meets yi sang who's also a fucked-up sort of harpy except his problems come from being treated like absolute garbage due to racism / discrimination and having to live by himself for most of his life
