Ok like I know we talk about the trauma Malik endured when he was being literally carved upon but a ten year old Malik literally skinned their dad alive and threw his literal skin onto Rishid’s body AFTER Rishid was being abused to the point of losing consciousness. When will we discuss????

I desperately need more Ishtar fanart that recognizes Malik is actually quite a bit taller than Isis. Like just imagine the cute sibling hugs! And try not to think about how the last time they hugged, he would have been shorter than her, and how strange it must be for them.

Another horror part about the Ishtar siblings prior to and during the first day of Battle City: Their honestly terrifying INABILITY to first accept that Reality was a very far cry from their idealized "meeting the Pharaoh and become free without any questions or trouble". Or, you know, wanting to FORCE Yugi and Meisa into doing their duty while the sibling trio themselves REFUSES to do the same aka actually helping

“I need you to grow stronger, so you can do your damned job and I will do whatever it takes to get the ending I want.” Hanaq hissed, eyes narrowing, “If I have to torture her to make you do your duty, I will. After what she did to my family, I’ll even enjoy it.”

“You keep trying to blame us.” Honda snarled, reaching for his phone to alert Ba-Khu-Ra to this duplicity, “But you’re the one who started this bullshit. You’re the one who keeps manipulating people and you’re the one who couldn’t just wait for Yugi to be ready. This is all on you, you bitch.”

“You’re a family of hypocrites.”

“What?!”

“You lecture her Highness about having to hurt the ones she loves and how she has to sacrifice everything to follow your precious plan, but ask one of you to do the same and suddenly you’re willing to do anything but that.”

The worst part is, in a way Ishizu succeeded. Meisa is stronger now than she was before Battle City started.

One of the real horror things about the Ishtar siblings' shared mindset prior to and during the day of Battle City; They are a living example of how toxic parenting (aka Mr Ishtar) can still be present YEARS later and risk ruining the lives of the younger generation

Not to mention that AWFUL idea of viewing Yugi, the reborn soul half of the Pharaoh, as "just a doll or vessel", rather than a living human who is her OWN person, who is less important than the soul half sealed inside the Puzzle, aka Meisa? Yeah, really WISE use of dehumanizing words to say repeatedly straight to Yugi's and Meisa's faces, as the Ishtars are finding out the hard way now

Or, as some of the lyrics to the song "Children will listen" from the musical Into the Woods say, and basically sums up Mr Ishtar and his remaining influence on his children despite them refusing to admit it: Careful the things you say; Children will listen. Careful the things you do; Children will see, And learn. Children may not obey, But children will listen…

Oh yeah. They're really showing some of the signed of their father's assholery.
