After 3 months of an amorous albeit tepid relationship at times,today at 9.52 am.it came to an end.

Came back to Isiolo after my 2 weeks stay in Meru.

I missed the meat,the cold showers and the people.

I'm sweating so much too.

Easter Sunday,I went to a place along Langata road for some late night food.

After eating their mbuzi (goat meat),I told the lady serving that I'm used to eating better meat where I am from.She asked where I was from and then she answered herself,"Isiolo!"

That was a surprise to me.There are different tastes in our national cuisines indeed.

She later clarified that she went to Isiolo in 2019 as part of a Brookside sales team targeted to Mt Kenya area.

It's always a small world.

Meru County has been working hard on improving it's roads, with many tarmac roads even in the remoter parts of the county. It really puts neighbouring Isiolo County to shame. Good roads enable people to access and value the wild splendour of northern parts of Kenya. The long term solution to loss of wildlife, and conservation of the environment, is not a few high end tourists in helicopters, it is the growing Kenyan middle class choosing to invest in caring for their country. They won't do that if they don't ever get to see it.
