#Repost @izarazmi with @get_repost ・・・ Back when I featured the religious flag of the Buddhist flag and the Christian flag, some of my friends asked to feature an Islamic flag which at that time I have none. So today Flag Of The Day is featuring a religious flag of Islam, one of the 2 Islamic flags, presenting to you the Islamic Black Flag or Ar Rayah. The Black Banner or Black Standard (Arabic: راية السوداء Rayat As-Sawdaʾ, also known as راية العقاب Rayat Al-ʿUqab "Banner of the Eagle" or simply as الراية Ar-Rayah "The Banner") is one of the flags flown by prophet Muhammad in Islamic tradition. It was historically used by Abu Muslim in his uprising leading to the Abbasid Revolution in 747 and is therefore associated with the Abbasid Caliphate in particular. It is also a symbol in Islamic eschatology (heralding the advent of the Mahdi). . The banner (Ar Rayah) is black, on which it is written ‘la ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah‘ with white script. It is carried by the leaders of the army divisions, regiments, detachments, and other army units. The evidence is that prophet Muhammad while being the leader of the army in Khaybar, he said: “I will give the Ar Rayah tomorrow to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His messenger love him; and he gave it to ‘Ali”. This hadith is agreed upon. Ali was considered the leader of a division or a regiment in the army. The Black Banner has been used in contemporary Islamism and jihadism since the late 1990s. A variant is commonly used as the flag of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. People need to learn to differentiate the Black Banner Ar Rayah and the ISIS flag coz it might looks simillar but it is definitely different. #Flag #FlagOfTheDay #IslamicFlag #ReligiousFlag #BlackStandard #BlackBanner #ArRaya #AlLiwa #Islam #Muhammad #Vexillology https://www.instagram.com/p/BreNMhggDDE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=111pohmpynhjr
