The importance of truth.
The importance of having your sense of self. Informed by what God has to say more than anything else. To acknowledge the events in your life, of your race, gender, education, income level, your vocation, number of children, marital status. All those are true but to interpret those in light of what God has to say. So those are not the defining things for you. They're descriptors of you but they are not definers of you. And to rank God's truth above all else.
To know truths that we read in scripture. Things like you belong to God, like you were CHOSEN by God, that you have been FORGIVEN. As far as the east is from the west your sins have been separated from you. That you are SECURE in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. That YOU ARE NOT ALONE. That God says there is nothing that can separate you from the love of Christ. That you have been REDEEMED. That your sin however great or small has been cancelled. They've been made complete in Jesus Christ. YOU are a child of God.
