Ah-- shit. That wasn’t what he intended to say, but it was at the same time. He had to wonder why she’d drag him out when all he wanted to do was rest. Then again, he also knew why. (Being the living embodiment of a contradiction was difficult.) There were lines to be drawn though. Iso didn’t know how to deal with being in large crowds of people who were so aware of him without the added point of him being there to basically wipe them off the map. Removing an entire community was as easy as snapping his fingers and for that, he could feel every whisper and hear every thought of panic about his being there. It made him uncomfortable and made him wonder why he’d be out here to begin with-- For her. His mind always answers his questions and he’s left looking like a kicked puppy at her words.
Ears drooping, eyes narrowed, a slight frown on his features; grumbling beneath his breath, he reaches out with marked phalanges and tugs at her sleeve to pull her back. “S’not what I meant, damn it.” He practically mutters the words but that grip doesn’t let up. That face-- it’s not a good expression for her, not one she should wear. He doesn’t like it and so he deems it unnecessary and something to be rid of. “C’mon quit makin’ that face, I didn’t mean it like that, Ran. I’m just-- I can hear ‘em. They instinctively know and because of that, they fuckin’ panic and I can feel all of it. It makes me annoyed. S’why I don’t like goin’ into crowded places without a purpose.”
Ah, damn. He’s not used to this. Normally, he talks to no one but his witches and animals. Kids if necessary, but never while trying to really comfort or reassure someone without blunt reasoning. Still, he makes the attempt, fingers pulling that sleeve a bit more to pull her closer into his side and tuck his arm around her. “I’ll behave. I ain’t bitchin’ no more, take me where ya want.”
