 Hyakunosuke stands there. He has his eyes locked onto the window of a small candyshop. He’s not sticking his head into the glass but it’s as if the world around him is gone. These are no common treats you see back where he’s from after all and even if things like konpeito are familiar it’s not something he gets to eat often.

Hyakunosuke can’t even walk anymore, his feet simply give up under him. He doesn’t know whose house it is, it doesn’t matter either. He’s tired so he’ll just take a spot on them, sitting down to hug his knees. Even his stomach rumbles.

 His head is even nodding off a little and so he doesn’t notice the looming shadow over him.

He bumps into him late at night, a little past midnight but his eyes catch the strange look even in the dark. Nor the stare he gives or the words are really made of malice but... 

“ Your face is weird. “

It’s a lot heavier than the one at home. His hands are shaking trying to hold it up - it just doesn’t work out as it should .. But Hyakunosuke has it all prepared, maybe he can get some food with it.... 

Just as he fires something hops out of the bushes -- no, it’s someone. 

“ ....are you ok? “

It might not have hit.... After all she’s still moving. It must have missed.

Cats are slippery creatures, Hyakunosuke has noticed. When the small hand reaches towards the cat it escapes only stop few steps away. Again he reaches forward now running after jogging cat. It’s just about the pace he can keep up with.

Around the corner to the sidewalk it goes and reaches crosswalk. The cat makes it before him, to the greenlight. Right that moment Hyakunosuke can’t see the car and he’s ready to follow. Sound of a break, probably too late and the chime of the traffic lights mixing together when the little feet crosses to the asphalt.

Just then something grabs Hyakunosuke by the haori, pulling back to the street making him fall backwards.

 Just in time.

He’d finally found out how to use phone only to be faced with another wall. The passcode. Apparently there’s some sort of pattern to open the phone but whatever it might be Ogata has most of it tested. Simply no luck. 

Tired of trying Ogata lays the phone down only his eyes to lock directly on a plate of fries (that’s what they call them). Unguarded one at that. 

He glances to both of his sides until reaching forward to grab a whole fistful.
