This Icy canvas known as Spirale was beginning to take its toll on the scientist. Lying face down in the snow with his behind in the air comically, all he can muster up is a small groan, refusing to move for a few brief moments. Being in such a position wouldn’t be the wisest thing for anyone to do in his situation, but the events that had lead up to Cortex’s awkward position would explain a bit better.
Prior to current placement, our evil scientist had an unfortunate run in with some of the static beasts once again. With a few shots from his weapon fired, he faced them valiantly. At least that’s what Cortex would like to believe. In actuality, he fired a few shots at one of them and succeeded in killing one of them. Victorious in this, he fails to note his cries of victory call upon another one of the creatures, which results in him running away in sheer terror as it runs after him, the desire to have him as a new meal quite clear. For the next few minutes, Cortex finds himself running n fear or firing a few shots at the beast with reckless abandon. There doesn’t seem to be an in between for a while... At least until he’s finally managed to hide from the creature by diving in a mound of snow.
Once the threat passes, His bravado returns, leaving him to quietly hurl a few insults towards the beast. “Haha!! U-u-useless insipid creature. The void in your skull has extended my lifeline in this tundra!!” Cortex stands with hands on his hips in the center of the street, watching the beasts shape fade into the distance. He stands like this for another moment, soaking in his well deserved victory... Until.
And we’re up to speed. Exhausted from his ordeal with the creatures and with the cold catching up to him as his adrenaline dies out, he groans softly. This is no way to act in below freezing temperatures. Who knew when the onset of another snowstorm would blow in? When the soft crunch of the snow beneath footsteps is heard, the doctor pries himself from the ground in panic, ready to flee again. But it’s just a child watching his sad display. “Oh...” And his face plants down into the snow again.
“...What...? C-can’t I have just a moment to recuperate? You’ve no idea what I’ve been through...”
