Are you staying home from work/school?
Yes! All schools where I live have been closed down due to COVID-19, and things are still pretty up in the air concerning next steps. But yes, I am social distancing and taking occasional drives on back roads to clear my head!
Who is your ideal quarantine mate?
Ideally it would be @anoddconstellationofthoughts and our friends! However, I am quarantined with my family right now and I am grateful to be in a safe and accepting home. If anyone is struggling with quarantine, please feel free to message me!
Are you a homebody?
I’m a homebody when I get to be, I guess. I’m pretty busy usually- my school gets out at 2:30, and i have dance classes from 3:15-7:30 or later most nights, so my only home time before COVID was on weekends. I don’t really mind being home, to be honest, but it’s hard not being able to see my friends at dance or at school. But, on the upswing, it’s given me quite a bit of time to write!
Is there a canceled event you were looking forward to?
Prom, probably? I was on the planning committee this year and was very excited for our theme-Camelot!-and the dress I bought. I’ve also got tickets to see My Chem in September, so fingers crossed that it still happens!! (Please, whatever deity is out there)
What movies have you watched recently?
Oh, my god, give me like five hours. Portrait of a Lady on Fire currently is blowing my mind- I’ve watched it twice already and I highly, highly recommend it. It broke me to pieces. Little Women, Midsommar, Lady Bird, really anything with Florence Pugh or Saiorse Ronan. Oh! And Frozen 2- one of my favorite animated movies to date!
What shows are you watching?
I’m not a huge consumer of TV- I don’t really have the attention span for it unless I’m really invested. However, I just finished all 5 seasons of Merlin, which is on Netflix and will break your heart to pieces. I’ve watched a Large amount of Jersey Shore and Versailles. Next on my list is probably Medici!
What music are you listening to?
Hozier, always, especially right now. Niall Horan’s new album Heartbreak Weather, Harry Styles’ Fine Line, My Chemical Romance’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. I listen to music most of the day, if I’m honest, and it pretty rapidly oscillates between bands like Thursday and My Chem and then One Direction, because they’re timeless and I adore them.
What are you reading?
Right now I’m very deeply entrenched in the Robert Langdon series by Dan Brown- The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, etc. They’re cheesy and most definitely sexist but they’re entertaining enough to take my mind off of everything that’s happening! I gave up on the Song of Fire and Ice series halfway through the fifth book- it was essentially a retelling of the fourth, and I found it much more boring than the rest. Other books I love are The Hazel Wood, Ron Chernow’s Hamilton, and The Romanov Sisters by Helen Rappaport.
