Hello! I identify isopods in posts.
I am not a yet a professional, just someone who really likes isopods.
my asks are open if you want me to identify a pod for you, also feel free to tag me in a post. I could always use more isopod material. I am least familiar with aquatic and ocean species, so I might not be able to help you there. (Although I will try)
Also, always feel free to ask questions or to point out mistakes you think I’ve made. I don’t see it as rude. I love talking about isopods, so if I misidentified one of your faves, feel free to tell me about it and we can nerd out together.
I usually tag the species, genus, and family name for sorting reasons, but occasionally I forget to (and I think I’ve accidentally tagged a bunch of posts as Porcellionides instead of Porcellionidae)
#requests - for when I get tagged in a post
#isopod asks - when I get an identification ask
#the (iso)podcast - whenever I am either posting outside of an identification, or talking for a long time under an identification
#not an isopod / #real isopod hours (not) - when it isn’t an isopod
#whoops - when I get one wrong
#big posts - when i identify ~6 or more species in one post/thread
