Midnight, Liam's new song with Alesso, is out! The video is out, it has Alesso in his studio in LA and Liam on his rooftop terrace in London- Liam says "It was nice just to make a video with a lot less noise around it- music videos are always so busy. For me personally, just to be able to go outside my house, perform a song on the balcony and just sing it the way I wanted to perform it rather than have people telling me how to move or what to do..." He and Alesso did an instagram live and it was absolutely charming and I wish we could have that every day! First they totally nerded out for ages about technical music stuff that was way over at least my head, absolute gibberish to me, it was GREAT, I loved getting to see Liam just casually being all professional like that and reminding us how involved with that aspect he was in the band (and before: "I studied sound engineering at college you know!") Then they bonded over their collectibles (Liam about Alesso's life sized Iron Man statue, "no way I have that exact one!") and eventually they spent a couple minutes on fan questions. Other highlights: Liam complaining about his "creepy" decorator provided throw cushions (they had Frida Kahlo embroidered on them) and doing ASMR of Alesso's name.
Niall had an interview with Zane Lowe! He talks about how terrible it felt to tell his whole tour staff that it was all cancelled and they were out of work for the year (guessing it felt even worse for them to be told that), had a playlist of his music picks ("Teenage Dream is one of the best pop songs of the last 15 years"), and he's playing an instagram live tomorrow as part of the ISPCC (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) charity series. Ken Jeong said he was in the unreleased Slow Hands video and that it didn't end up coming out because it was "too weird."
And: Harris Reed revealed that the reason Harry's nipples were being chafed by sequins at that one show (as he told us onstage) was that he was wearing the blouse backwards! He really wanted that cleavage out I guess.
