Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a major speech in Toronto a few days ago to declare a "crisis of antisemitism" in Canada and to announce a new ministerial advisory council to combat ‘antisemitism levels not seen since World War II’.

The alarmism is intended to impugn and justify repression of the anti-genocide movement but the Zionist claim is that there is a a massive increase in antisemitic violence directed at synagogues, schools, and Jewish-owned businesses. We know from such claims made in Europe and the US that no distinctions are made in antisemitic hate crime statistics between actual vandalism or hate crimes and Palestinian supporters chanting ‘Free free Palestine’, wearing a keffiyeh, or waving the Palestinian flag. Zionists claim their feelings are hurt by opposition to genocide and law enforcement register that as hate crimes. What vandalism and violence that do exist come from right-wing nationalists with whom Zionists are in league and not from Palestinian supporters.

There is no worldwide tsunami of hatred or violence against Jews. There is only international support for Palestinians against genocide.

Note that Carney gave his speech in front of the Israeli flag without acknowledging, let alone denouncing the genocide. That is called lower than pond scum.

Those who keep insisting that Zionism is rooted in the Talmud and Torah only show that they understand absolutely nothing about Zionism which is rooted not in religion but in European white supremacy and colonialism.

Polls show that 82% of Jewish Israelis support the forced expulsion/ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza (and probably the West Bank and East Jerusalem also). About 64% of Jewish Israelis agree with the statement that there are "no innocents in Gaza" so it's righteous to kill every man, woman, and child Palestinian. The broad support among Israelis for hanging Palestinian political prisoners and for the gang rapist soldiers suggest strongly that Zionism has completely corrupted the morality and humanity of most Jewish Israelis beyond repair. Not all. But most.

That is deeply problematic when it comes to the future of Israelis after the colonial entity collapses. Palestinian visionaries once proposed a democratic secular state as a solution because it fully incorporates Palestinian self-determination whilst also accommodating former Israelis who reject a Jewish-only colonial entity and want to live in harmony with Palestinians. That is beginning to look more and more like a pipe dream though there is no other solution. It would be impossible for those who champion rape and lynching as well as genocide and ethnic cleansing to live as equals with Palestinians who represent the highest aspirations of suffering humanity for freedom, justice, and equality. Those Israelis, especially the settlers in the West Bank, would have to leave and go back to where they came from. But no society in its right mind would want to take them back because Zionism has made them irredeemably antisocial and violent. Can you imagine living next door to one of those settlers who beat dogs, poison wells, assault farmers, assault children, and pull out olive trees?

Power is the only thing those psychotic settlers understand. If they cannot live amongst other human beings in harmony, they damn well better find a deserted island in the middle of nowhere and move there. Because sure as hell, Palestinians won't want to put up with them any longer than they already have. And neither will anyone else in the world.

There is regrettable confusion about this Israeli tank commander named Daniel Ella. He was the commanding officer of the battalion who on January 29, 2024 ordered the execution of 5-year-old Hind Rajab along with six members of her extended family and two Palestinian paramedics who came to rescue her after her cry, "Come and get me. I'm so scared, please come". Their bodies were not found until February 10th when the IDF withdrew from the area in Gaza. There are several war crimes involved in that incident.

In Ella's murderous marauding around Gaza (after the execution of Hind), he was injured and on July 2024 was removed from commanding the tank battalion involved in the executions. That battalion is now involved in Israel's invasion of Lebanon. The current commander was injured and Israel replaced him with baby killer Daniel Ella. Several news accounts report that he was the one injured and replaced. Unfortunately, he's still able-bodied and genocidal enough to commit war crimes in Lebanon.

On October 21, 2025, the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) filed a 120-page formal complaint (including satellite evidence, digital evidence, and social media footage) with the International Criminal Court accusing Ella along with 23 other Israeli soldiers and commanders of direct involvement in the execution of Hind, the six members of her family, and the two paramedics. They are charged with firing 335 rounds at the vehicle Hind and her family were traveling in and then firing at the ambulance that came to rescue.

The best outcome for this genocidal baby killer is to survive long enough for the ICC to issue an international arrest warrant for him and for him to be hunted down for prosecution and incarceration. He can share a cell in a penitentiary with Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant who also have outstanding ICC arrest warrants against them.

In its long ongoing campaign to prove itself irrelevant as a news source, Time magazine published its '100 Most Influential People of 2026' list. It's basically an exercise in sucking up to the elite, especially movie stars and politicians. The format of the list is that celebrities who don't mind kissing ass--say for example, Oprah Winfrey, Taylor Swift, Gloria Steinem--sing hosannas for those selected hot stuff of the year.

You'd think during a time of genocide that the magazine's selection of who's who would include even a single Palestinian--say one of the 270 Palestinian journalists killed by Israel; maybe one of the Palestinian doctors imprisoned, tortured, or raped to death by Israeli soldiers; possibly some of the paramedics and rescue workers in Gaza, some of whom are still alive and weren't buried alive by Israeli troops. The list could even include doctors like Norwegian Dr. Mads Gilbert or American-Jewish Dr. Mark Perlmutter or British-Palestinian Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah who have all worked in Gaza during the genocide and who so effectively and ardently oppose it. All of those Palestinians and the doctors serving in Gaza have profoundly influenced millions of people around the world to actively oppose the genocide. They carry far more political and charismatic weight than say Benicio Del Toro, Noah Wyle, golfer Scottie Scheffler, Victoria Beckham, or Dakota Johnson, don't they?

But Time magazine chose to highlight active genocide supporters like Ben Stiller, Susan and Michael Dell, Noah Wyle, David Ellison, Ralph Lauren, Gavin Newsom, and several other Zionists along with the actual architects of the genocide, including Trump, Netanyahu, Witkoff, Rubio, along with wafflers like Mark Carney.

What exactly does 'influential' mean to Time magazine? Trump's policies of genocide, wars, hunting down immigrants to deport, regime change, and tariffs have affected millions of people all over the world. But his US approval ratings are in the toilet at 38%. Internationally, they're probably minus-75%. Palestinian resistance has influenced well over 20 million people all over the world to oppose Trump and Netanyahu and campaign against genocide and Palestinians don't even get a mention?

It's been a long time since any serious student of politics looked to Time magazine for insights, but on its way to the proverbial dustbin of history, it ought not to make an ass of itself and its readers.

‏توفّي اليوم الأحد المؤرخ الفلسطيني ‎#وليد_الخالدي، مؤسس مؤسسة الدراسات الفلسطينية في بيروت وأحد أبرز الباحثين الذين كرّسوا عملهم لتوثيق التاريخ الفلسطيني وجرائم الاحتلال الإسرائيلي. كما شارك الخالدي في صياغة خطاب ياسر عرفات أمام الأمم المتحدة عام 1974 وشارك في الوفد الفلسطيني الأردني المشترك في محادثات السلام.

أسّس الخالدي مع قسطنطين زريق وبرهان الدجاني مؤسسة الدراسات الفلسطينية عام 1963، التي أصبحت تضم واحدة من أهم المكتبات والوثائق المتخصصة بفلسطين، وتشمل عشرات آلاف الكتب والمخطوطات والوثائق التاريخية. كما كان من أبرز الباحثين الذين أسهموا في ترسيخ ما عُرف بـ«علم النكبة»، وهو الحقل الذي دعا إلى تطويره قسطنطين زريق لدراسة أحداث عام 1948 وتوثيقها علمياً.

ترك الخالدي إرثاً بحثياً واسعاً تجاوز أربعين كتاباً، من أبرزهم «قبل الشتات»، و«كي لا ننسى»، الذين وثّقا القرى الفلسطينية المدمّرة والحياة الفلسطينية قبل عام 1948، و«كلّ ما تبقى»، و«دير ياسين: الجمعة 9 نيسان 1948»، و«سقوط حيفا». وقد ساهمت مؤلفاته وأبحاثه في صياغة السردية الفلسطينية ونشرها عالمياً، لتصبح مرجعاً أساسياً للباحثين والدارسين في تاريخ فلسطين والنكبة.

وُلد الخالدي في القدس عام 1925، وتلقّى تعليمه في فلسطين، قبل أن يدرس التاريخ في بريطانيا. بدأ مسيرته الأكاديمية بالتدريس في أكسفورد، لكنه استقال عام 1956 احتجاجاً على العدوان الثلاثي على مصر، وانتقل بعدها إلى الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت أستاذاً للدراسات السياسية حتى عام 1982، كما عمل لاحقاً زميلاً في مركز هارفارد للشؤون الدولية ودرّس في جامعة برينستون.

Walid Khalidi has left us, a towering figure who devoted his entire life to ensuring that the world never forgets the Palestinian tragedy.

A scion of a deeply rooted family of judges, scholars and educators from Jerusalem (the family of my grandmother Fatima Khalidi), he spent a lifetime researching, documenting, and teaching the world about Palestine and the impact of the Zionist project. To that end, he founded the Institute for Palestine Studies in 1963, the first Arab think tank and a leading repository of knowledge on the Nakba.

Today, all those who love Palestine bid farewell to Walid Khalidi, the guardian of its memory.
