POLICIES: Ensure that all provisions agreed upon for disabled students actually happen – ISSAs are followed through on and extra exam arrangements put into place
I always attend the Disabled Students Assembly, and I so frequently hear students complaining that their teachers and lecturers do not follow the instructions in their ISSAs. ISSAs are not optional, they are to ensure students can ACCESS their education. I will lobby the School to ensure that all staff are correctly trained to implement ISSAs.
After last year’s debacle with exam arrangements I feel it is especially important to ensure that students with special exam arrangements are notified of their room and provisions in advance so that they can rectify any issues in advance of the exam and be sure that everything will go to plan on the day.
Everyone should be able to ACCESS their education and their exams.
