Rick Grimes Issue 1 - Issue 192

Wow, actually seeing The Walking Dead comics do what the show chickened out on doing (Rick’s death) has me feeling some type of way. I always knew Rick would never survive the series, as Kirkman has said a million times. It was always meant to happen. I accepted it a long time ago. Not to say that it wouldn’t hurt, I knew it would, but I made peace with it. 

Carl was always meant to take over from his father. The show messed that up royally and I still haven’t, and will never, forgive them for it. So seeing this story play out in the way that it was meant to... I feel satisfied. The comics is the true story and while I may have preferred the show prior to killing off Carl, I love the comics in their own way. 

I cried at Carl’s reactions in this issue, and for Rick himself. I’m excited to see Carl’s development from here on out. This is the story my baby boy should’ve had in the show, and I’m here for it.

Walking Dead issue 192 fucked me up. I mean, I saw it coming, but still. End of an era.

But that being said...20+ time jump to late-30s Carl Grimes and Sophia now? I feel the time jump coming.
