Floppy Friday, Volume 3, Issue 9: Sample Pages 2
Two familiar illustrations by Phil are included with the additional material in issue 9 of the Girl Genius comic book, on pages 26 and 27. This may be the first time these illustrations have been presented to the public.
Jägermomma
This was presumably the first time the readers of Girl Genius ever saw Mamma Gkika, since this comic book was printed in June 2003, but Gkika's debut in the webcomic wasn't until the page posted Friday, April 25, 2008, nearly five years later. It is interesting to speculate how Girl Genius fans reacted to this picture at that time.
Alvays remember—any plan vere you lose you hat iz a bad plan!
This Jägermonster motivational poster is inspired by the dialog between Jägermonsters Minsk and Gorb on page 6 of issue 6 of the Girl Genius comic book, page 75 of volume 2 of the graphic novel series (first printing, or page 69 of the second printing), and page 069 of the webcomic, posted online with the date Friday, October 17, 2003.
This illustration of Agatha and Gil (by Phil) was included at the end of page 2 of issue 9 of the comic book, the second and final page of the "Our Story Thus Far:" section. I am including it because it appears to be inked, which is unusual for Girl Genius drawings after volume 1 of the graphic novel series. The inking may have been done by Phil, and the coloring by Kaja, based on the fact that they are known to have taken on these roles for other illustrations.
