✧･ﾟ☾ 𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐋 𝐒𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃
Known to everyone as Issy, Isambard Errol Sutherland is the eldest child of Donald Andrew the Earl of Sutherland and his wife Sophia Iseabail. He has two younger sisters and two younger brothers. Issy was named after the great engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who Issy’s father greatly admired and his middle name Errol is one he shares with his maternal grandfather.
Like the majority of his family, Issy went to Hogwarts. He was sorted into Hufflepuff after a very brief time under the Sorting Hat and grew to love History of Magic, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Herbology. He also became a prefect, but rejected the offer to become Head Boy.
What isn’t widely known about the Sutherland Clan is that they are shapeshifters (unlike Animagi, they are born as shapeshifters). They all take the form of wildcats- their official animal symbol- and can transform at will. Their abilities stem from an ancestor that uncovered an ancient, strange, and incredibly rare form of magic and since then select members of the Clan have been studying that of magic, occasionally with the help of outside experts including the revered Dr Eli Cairncross, to seek out its origins and secrets. Their shapeshifting abilities are a fundamental secret to the Clan’s survival and it enables them to have an upper hand in battle (as it lends to their agility, ferocity, and strength) and maintain their reputation as a fearsome, brave, and powerful group.
Unfortunately, by the time Issy is born, the number of Sutherland Clan members able to transform into wildcats began to dwindle. The only reason for this was that the ancient magic’s power was weakening and soon the livelihood of the Clan would be jeopardy. Evidence showed the family that if their abilities were to disappear then so would their magic as a whole and they would simply turn to Muggles, lost and disconnected from the life they’d known for centuries.
It was now a race against time to uncover answers and for Issy himself it was a heavy burden to bear, but he’d stop at nothing to protect his family’s legacy and their future…
