Protect our sacred! When you stand for the mauna you stand for our aquifers, our fragile environment, our children's health, our decency as human beings, you stand for the rights of kanaka who have been wrongly done by greedy businessmen, you stand for what is sacred to Hawaiians, a place of powerful mana for the islands, this mountain protects and has been our protector from major storms that threaten our islands even scientifically, and now people want to start fooling with it to put a telescope observatory worth thousands of millions at the very top so that we can explore other planets all while ours crumbles beneath our feet, and people go hungry and houseless, and are dying from lack of healthcare. This, folks, is what is called an oxymoron. Now it's time we stood to protect the mauna, protect the mountain, our sister, the SACRED to the Hawaiian people. The acres of land that these telescopes are built on are supposed to be protected by the historical preservation act. If you destroy what is left in the hearts of the Hawaiian people you destroy the very essence of ALOHA.
