Dropping the Ball
How many balls can I keep up in the air? How many plates do I need to keep spinning? And spinning. And spinning.
My head is a plate with My eyes constantly rolling from one side of My brain to another. Back and forth. Back and forth.
I hear them moving inside my head like marbles.
Scraping and scratching through my memories, rolling over my worries, pushing over my fears and grinding into my self esteem.
Back and forth. Back and forth.
I shake my head to try and clear it,if only to stop the rolling, scraping and scratching for just a moment.
I shake my head and take one welcoming, cleansing breath
Only to realize, too late that my intake of breath is a gasp and the sound that I hear is a crash.
