Literary Take

Stephen King is basically just what would happen if Charles Dickens and Mark Twain had a lovechild who wrote for "The Twilight Zone". 

Also, "IT" is structurally very similar to "Les Miserables" and "Notre Dame de Paris", both by Victor Hugo.

IT 2 CW LIST!!

1. explicit homophobia (please be careful its graphic)

2. body horror (lots of it)

3. lots of jumpscares

4. domestic abuse/violence

5. flashing lights in 3 scenes! first 2 are relatively short, 3rd is much longer

6. nudity (very brief, only in 1 scene)

7. very wmotional,, i sobbed fully in the theater at least twice

8. non-explicit s*icide, its graphic as you see blood but it is non-explicit because you don’t see the person do it. however, it cuts back to the glass blood oath scene from the first movie, so you see a palm get cut.

i think that’s it! please stay safe and have fun at this movie! its not all grim and horror, there are lots of fun parts just like the first one! i hope these arent spoilers because i dont want to have to tag it so people who havent seen the movie can see this list. let me know if it is (for those who’ve seen it) and i’ll edit the tags!!!! love y’all!!

richie was feeling like pure shit. it had been a long week with little to no sleep, the nightmares plaguing him whenever he even tried closing his eyes. he’d been living on copious amounts of coffee and up until now, it had been working ... okay. it wasn’t the ultimate choice, but it kept him alive and somewhat functional. at least it had been, up until now. the day had been worse than the past ones, and richie hadn’t slept at all. at least before, he’d managed to get a couple, if not restless, hours of sleep in but this night had been awful. that was how he currently found himself sat in a dingy looking bar, teetering on the edge of drunk with yet another glass of bourbon in front of him. 

he ran a hand over his face, knocking his glasses askew in the process, before knocking back the glass. he didn’t know how many of those he’d had by now, but what good would counting do anyway? he only really knew of one person who could care about it and somewhere in the back of his mind, richie could hear his voice going on and on about liver damage or kidney failures or whatever the fuck he could possibly think about in the hypochondriac brain of his.  fuck, richie missed him. and that was what all the nightmares had been about; watching him die in front of his eyes, impaled by pennywise and his blood splattering all over richie’s face and glasses. he couldn’t get the fucking image out of his mind. 

so richie gestured to the bartender to fill up his glass again and after a few seconds of consideration, asked him to leave the bottle as well. that was about the same time as richie noticed a pair of eyes on him and he looked up, focusing hazy eyes on the other person. “do you need anything?”
