I think both characters were hurting, and just wanted to be understood. Redfield was lonely and wanted to play, and Jane wanted to help her friends. Josephine was hurt so much by the man she thought she could trust and the fellow cult members. Both are interesting and complex characters.

The Hero and the Bloodline

It Lives Week -- Day 1: MC’s

@it-lives-week  meet my mc’s, Cassie Sanders (ILitW) and Kane Vance (ILB)

The Hero: Cassie Vance. Cassie was something of a loner after the traumatic events with Redfield as a child. When Redfield came back when she was a teenager, Cassie was terrified, but she was determined that she wouldn’t lose another friend to the entity. As the fight pushed the old friends back together, she became closer with her friend Ava Cunningham, and even fell in love. Now she’s making sure no kid will have to go through what she did with the Power again.

The Bloodline: Kane Vance. After his parents’ gruesome murder, Kane was only sure of one thing: he had to protect his little brother, Elliot. Fighting the cult responsible for destroying his family twice over, he discovered his relationship to the ghost haunting the lake of Pine Springs--his grandmother, Josephine. Though he was forced to banish Josephine, the fight awoken him to the strong connection his family has to the Power; the same one that his grandmother possessed. After the events at the lake, he has been practicing with the Power, growing strong enough that now he doesn’t even need the boost of the runic armour to access it. With the support of his boyfriend, Parker Shaw, Kane has been learning all that he can about the Power. He can still feel his grandmother’s spirit, and wonders if the might be a way to save Josephine once and for all.
