Just remembered that time in 8th grade heath class where my heath teacher (who I respected at the time) was teaching about the heart and said “al four valves of the heart are bicuspid, except the tricuspid valve which is tricuspid” and I, having been born with a bicuspid aortic valve as a heart condition and having seen a cardiologist every year of my life, raised my hand and corrected her. She told me I was wrong.

figured she was embarrassed about being corrected in front of the class, so I talked to her after class and explained that I had a bicuspid aortic valve and I see a cardiologist every year and I know the aortic valve is supposed to be tricuspid. She looked me in the eye and with the intensity that I have only ever seen on my 8th and 9th grade math teacher (who is a wild story in her own right) told me “your cardiologist is wrong.”

My 13 year old self was so bewildered that I just left the classroom and googled it to make sure I wasn’t crazy and lo and behold, the aortic valve is tricuspid. I told my cardiologist that story the next time I saw him and he said “your health teacher is full of shit”.

It’s been 8 years and I still wonder what the hell was going on in her brain to this day.

Been thinking about my old fandom OCs from my elementary years and the way I decided to revamp them in high school. The fact that my Sonic OC married my Hetalia OC and together they adopted my Homestuck OC who’s pining for another OC who used to be a sentient taco is a thing that can and will haunt me to my grave.

I’ve been to Supernatural conventions. Perhaps even ones you have been at. One time, a woman’s baby escaped and ran toward the stage. It was Misha’s panel. He looked at this hairless child wearing a Castiel costume and smiled. The mom comes up behind and is like “Castiel!” 

Anyways, Misha met a baby named Castiel and it was so damn cute and I think every day about how Castiel would’ve been so honored to know there was a baby named after him.
