The morning is grey and misty as you step out onto the porch. The trees surrounding your little farmhouse are bursting with colors of orange and red, and the leaves blow in the chilly breeze and get caught in the damp grass. Some stick to the porch steps, roof, and windows, nature adding its own decor. You take a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of dew and coffee. Around you, the sounds of the animals waking up keeps you company.
The screen door creaks as you go back inside the warmth of your home. There's a small fire burning in the hearth, and coffee brewing in the kitchen. You go to pour yourself another cup, then begin making breakfast. Soon, your house is filled with the smell of baking cinnamon and dough as cinnamon rolls rise in the oven. There's candles burning nearby, and gentle acoustics coming from the radio.
It is peaceful, and the autumn is perfect.
4 miles run. My legs were definitely feeling the 50 miles from yesterday. So I did run walk intervals. Took my time and tried to enjoy the cooler weather and all the cows in the field laying down. 19 days til Augusta 70.3. I thought I felt good and prepared and today's run really put the doubt in my mind. I can do it, I just don't know if I'll be able to improve my run time. The weather is getting cooler here in Kentucky. I'm so excited for fall and even winter. Fall and winter running are amazing and I cannot wait. Fall is my favorite season. I can't wait to go home on October and really enjoy some cold fall weather. I'm so excited. Hurricane Irma is making landfall on my home away from home, St. Kitts. They bumped it to a category 5 and I don't know how much that little island can take. I've been thinking about all the locals, students, and teachers there and hope they are all safe. 🇰🇳
Two more days until Autumn!
