absolutely insane to argue Veth "should" have gone back as a goblin when she 100% DID do that, even though it absolutely terrified her. even if you wanted to argue she should have done it earlier, she fucking DID COME BACK, AS A GOBLIN, DESPITE THE DANGER.
I'm going to be honest and cop that i did NOT read their entire TEN PARAGRAPH reply to my addition, but of what i skimmed before deciding this simply was not worth my time, it seemed they were referring to AFTER her reunion with Yeza, perhaps, that she should have returned home? Which is just as stupid a complaint, but in a different way, because Veth was, fundamentally, constrained by this thing called "Being A Main Character In An Ensemble Cast Story" and if she left she'd....well, she'd exit the entire story. And also that she stayed away (as a goblin, still) because she felt she couldn't fit back into her old life in the skin of a monster, where she would live maybe another decade or so before Luc lost his mother again, permanently this time (a thing that is explicitly said in the text! she has a whole conversation about this!).
All in all, that person's additions were just straight up bad faith takes on Veth in general that could only be cobbled together by someone who outright doesn't like her or else has a malicious misunderstanding of basic things, like simple textual analysis. "if veth's life had been different, she might have been just like liliana--" what if the world was made of pudding. that's how I feel about the entire thing. what if the world was made of pudding
Still can't believe just how good the first season of Camp Cretaceous is.
So much stuff just happens and it works.
i hate reading a post from a trans woman that on the surface i agree with and then i check the notes to see if there's any interesting additions and there and oops! we're blaming trans mascs for all of trans women's problems again. somehow
I left a comment on someone's fic on AO3, and they left one back saying they'd enjoyed my writing since guykyle, so I feel like I gotta say hi to @infiniteeight8 and @lunaris1013 and @mxbuster, who I met via guykyle.
If you remember us meeting during my guykyle time and I have lost your name, I am probably confusing you with the PhilClint hotties.
When I think about this whole situation I think about the fact that more effort went into finding the corpses of first and second class passengers. How the majority of the first and second class passangers actually survived because they were literally higher up on the ship. And then I think of all the power and resources and the over 10 vessels and 4 government agencies. And then I remember the ship of immigrants that had 750 people on it when it was capsized by the Greece costal guard by the way. And how 500 of them are missing and how some of them could still be alive. And then I see the over ten ships and four profoundly important government agencies working on finding these dead rich people. And I remember that time is a flat circle and we are not the priority
I’m languishing in all of the Andor parallels. Presently it’s Luthen who has made his mind “a sunless place”, he says, as he speaks to Jung in the very deepest levels of Coruscant where the sun never penetrates ...versus Maarva who’s already built a place that the Empire cannot ruin where the sun shines for her: “I’m already there. That place is in my head. They can build as many barracks as they like, they’ll never find me.”
For every Luthen who lives in the dark, there are a few people out there now who live in the light of hope even whilst living under Imperial occupation. (It’s also been sunnier on Ferrix lately!)
Once again, I am not okay.
