as much as I do think this plan will create a fun game state and is generally the most interesting plan... I am honestly not looking forward to watching them try to convince the gods, especially if it extends the campaign much longer. I truly don't think I can handle the finale getting dragged out to late February/March
I was admittedly like oh well at least we're almost done and now it seems we'll have a few more episodes, but. eh. If they weren't the type to dither forever it would really only be like 3-4 more episodes (deal with predathos; deal with the gods; maybe deal with the gods or with the gods AND predathos in some manner; ending) and as is my new guess is like, 5-6ish? "endgame" has in the past meant "once we get the big bad we have a wrap up and we're done."
questbedhead What’s happening in the dungeon isn’t technically resurrection magic- it’s regular healing, but since the dungeon keeps souls tied to their body it functions like resurrection. Actual resurrection spells exist but theyre extremely difficult and dangerous
And I suppose that's the source of the zombies, skeletons, and ghosts, huh? Rough gig
your tags about the bad kids are making me imagine them actually having the conversation "Should we bend the rules of reality to make our besties immortal" and I can just see Fig/Emily slamming her hands on the table and shouting 'NO ONE'S ALLOWED TO DIE UNLESS WE ALL DIE!!'
YES!!!! EXACTLY!!!!!!
as if Fig “took revivify as a magical secrets spell” Faeth would let any of her friends stay dead for any length of time??? not likely, I think
So I’ve been thinking about the scenario @questbedhead came up with where Jon sends his memories back to his S1 self rather than physically going back in time. (Hope you don’t mind me adding to it!)
In my head I’ve upgraded it from “this is the S2 dynamic except Jon is Martin and Martin is Jon” to “Jon has to deal with an archive full of his own Jons and he’s in hell.”
Martin is freaked out by Jon being nice to him and worried there’s another shoe that’s going to fall, so he responds to his friendliness with paranoia.
Jon decides the whole story will make him sound crazy so he’ll just drop hints and warnings to ensure people aren’t in the wrong place at the wrong time. But he’s BAD at being subtle. Sasha quickly suspects he’s hiding some weird shit and starts stalking him a bit. (Remember that this is the woman who would break into his computer to snoop just for fun.) And whenever he hints at something a little bit weird she goes out to investigate it without telling anyone where she’s going, sometimes coming back injured.
Jon fails to steer Melanie back towards “safe” paranormal locations, because she has to see this through. When he realizes he can’t stop her from going to India he asks to only meet her outside the archive, hoping to at least keep her away from Elias. Unfortunately she interprets this as him not wanting her seen at his workplace, (she’s already been a meme at this point.) She feels hurt and resentful and comes in anyway just to spite him and pretty soon she’s working there. Jon complains to Georgie that he’s just trying to help Melanie but she always carries on with whatever reckless thing she was doing. Georgie counts to ten in her head before replying.
Tim manages to be chill until the Unknowing is an issue. Jon knows the Unknowing will fail on its own, but Nikola is still going to come after him and could harm anyone around him. His attempts to carefully warn the others without giving away that the Circus is involved fail miserably. Tim starts running off to the places Jon tried to warn the others to stay away from, hoping to encounter someone from the circus, obsession and survivor’s guilt motivating him to throw himself at danger again and again.
Jon looking at all his archival assistants like (drunk girl with puppies voice) “I can’t protect them!!”
I like the idea od the Ioun stone reacting to Caleb's moods. Like when he's sleepy it spins really slowly, when he'sthinking it spins so fast it's justs a blur, when he gets hit it wobbles around like a cartoony 'seeing stars' effect, etc.
Yes, good, keep these coming. This is wonderful. I shall be imagining this during the next fight.
I know you already have "brave as a noun" for Nott but I think we should revisit the first few lines in light of the recent episode.
*looks at the timestamp to verify what episode this is talking about because I’m so behind on these asks*
(It’s about e55, Duplicity)
“I could go off the deep endI could kill all my best friends”
(Why would you do this to me?)
