these characters have already been put through a wringer, it REALLY doesn't matter if people see Harrow as a femme/butch/whatever. it also does not matter what you see Pal as. he wears a nurse dress and writes smut. personally, he's headcanoned as a transmasc butch AND a transfem butch in my house, depending on how we're talking about him (AMAB Pal is a trans woman that doesn't have enough time to understand her egg, AFAB Pal is transmasc and has always used he/him). in fact, there's very few characters in the locked tomb that haven't received at least one headcanon in my heart.

none of this fucking matters. you're in fandom space. let people have fun or stop interacting with it.

Ok I finally got to read some of the stuff that was said on the panel (thanks to @kyrilu sharing a transcription) and even if I understand why people are so pissed, I want to point out to this part:

I dont know how many times the comparison with Niles and Daphne has been brought up in the past. I know I've talked about it a lot. In any case, this right here basically says they know the moment Guillermo and Nandor get together, the show is over.

Niles and Daphne took 7 seasons to happen, and a lot of people would say the show got worse afterwards (not me, tbh, I think they developed the relationship really well, and Im not alone on this since the show had 4 more seasons). Other shows were not that lucky. Usually, when a story is built around the romantic tension between its characters, once the tension is resolved the writers dont know what else to do, and the show becomes more boring and pointless and dies.

Wwdits writers know this and they know (if they're smart) that they cant unromance Nandermo at this point. They're just keeping the tension until the very end of the show, or maybe until they find a way of making the relationship plots interest enough to keep making the show after they get together.

I know a lot of you come from a long journey through queerbaiting stories and it's normal to get suspicious, but please stop getting mad in advance. If the show ends and there's not a romantic culmination for all this building up, I'll be the first one burning things, I promise. But until then, please can we just chill and be patient?

cycle goes: asexual person makes a nondescript vague ace pride post -> a bunch of homophobes and terfs make fun of them for "being part of the alphabet brigade/having a victim complex/making an antidepressant side-effect their identity" etc. -> an outraged ace teenager says "actually ace people have it worse than anyone else in the lgbt community" and other comments that are clearly untrue and counterproductive -> a bunch of lgbt accounts ridicule this statement which then morphs into another rerun of 2015 tumblr ace discourse -> repeat ad infinitum

It's infuriating seeing so many psg players (hell, 90% of football players) go on vacations without masks and hanging out in public places as if it's nothing. Only to come back and what, mass spread a deadly disease! Fucking hell. Clubs should forbid every single one of them from traveling. No wonder no one can control the mass covid infections spreading throughout the footballing community. i know! i dont expect it to be just the same , nor do i want to, i just hope that the storyline is just as good, original and creative, that it can also bring up some emotions in me you know? i guess i have many high expectations about what it'll be like, just as you said, although i do know that it'll be different in some aspects

i should hope that it’s going to be different because every country has its own struggles to deal with, and Skam was brought up as a mean to show that in the first place (and hope more remakes will realize that in the future and be bold enough to step up!). France really needs s3. Like really. I wish they had seized the opportunity to make s1 and s2 just as big of a deal regarding female and gender issues in our society rather than make it about giggling girls trying to put up parties to have sex with older guys (i’m sorry but it’s not real. It’s like, 0,5% of 16 yo girls), but as long as s3 and s4 has an impact, even the tiniest, i’m going to be fine with it

OMG I hate how Tumblr seems to have this idea that age gaps in relationships are inherently bad. Like, obviously it's not okay for an adult to date a minor, and it's also pretty gross when older people sit around "waiting" for kids to turn 18. But two consenting adults with mutual respect for one another are totally allowed to be in a relationship if they want to.
