We do not need that many tiny pumpkins for Steve & his children
"Put them back."
"But Steve--"
"Dustin," Steve said in his most stern I'm the one in charge here voice, "put. Them. Back."
"We have our own money," Mike argued. Steve resisted the urge to put his hands on his hips as he looked at Mike, whose arms were also full of pumpkins.
"I don't care," he replied. "We do not need that many tiny pumpkins."
"Says you," Max snorted.
"I--" Steve groaned in frustration and threw his hands up in the air. "I will leave you all here! I can do that, you know!"
"Over some pumpkins?" Dustin asked. "Really, Steve?"
"I could," Steve said, still trying to sound firm. "I-I mean, I would."
"We need them," Dustin went on. "You just don't see our vision, okay, if you'd just--"
"I swear to god," Steve groaned, "you idiots are gonna leave those pumpkins in my car and they'll rot and then I'm going to be finding stupid little pumpkins for weeks."
Mike and Dustin shared a look and Steve did not like it one bit. He was pretty sure he'd just uncovered their "vision" which was really just a half-assed prank. This is why he shouldn't have agreed to take them to the pumpkin farm in the first place.
"If we promise not to leave them in your car," Max said, drawing Steve's attention back to her. "Can we get them?"
"Yeah, Steve, can we?"
Steve shut his eyes and exhaled sharply before turning around. When he opened his eyes again, he saw exactly what he'd been dreading: Eddie with his arms also full of tiny pumpkins.
"Not you too, Munson."
Eddie grinned at him and shrugged his shoulders as best he could with an armful of pumpkins. Steve rubbed his hands over his face and groaned.
"I'm never taking any of you anywhere again."
