He isn’t sure what to feel, but it certainly motivates him to return.

Why I love this: Reading a fic from Neal’s POV isn’t usually something I’m interested in, but his reaction to seeing Emma and Killian bond over his “death” is so painfully real and deliciously angsty.

Why I love this: A short painful piece, and I really love the way Killian’s POV is written. It feels so real to where his character was at this point in show.

Why I love this: You cannot even begin to detail how much I wish the show hadn’t just killed Neal off and gone a route like this instead where we actively see Emma deal with her past with Neal and choose her own happiness. This fic is wonderful and it’s nice to see Emma not just choosing Killian, but choosing to go with what’s best for her instead.

Why I love this: This series explores a budding relationship between Emma and Killian really well without skirting over their painful baggage and I truly love the voices for the both of them. At times, especially in regards to Neal (sidebar: the POV fic for him is fantastic) it’s really painful and at other times it manages to be light and playful, much like it is in canon. It’s a seamless fit between what we saw and what could’ve been.

Why I love this: The plot - a sort of Groundhog’s Day - is really interesting and fresh to me. It’s a really neat take on the idea. Add that to well-written characterizations and you have yourself an enjoyable fic.

T. [2259 words; ONESHOT]. It’s New Year’s Eve in Storybrooke, and although things between Hook and Emma have been confusing lately, Hook decides the time for ‘backing off’ is over. Everything is settled when the clock strikes midnight…

Why I love this: This is not exactly as angsty as the others, but there’s miscommunication angst in this fic which I’m always a fan of + the dialogue in this is quite enjoyable.

Why I love this: I’m a sucker for a good Neverland hurt/comfort fic and this didn’t disappoint + the uneasiness between Emma and Neal and her relationship with Killian is done really well in the time spent acknowledging it.

Why I love this: Another “the show completely missed this opportunity” fic that I completely adore. I love, love, love when we get to see Emma and Killian (and Emma and Neal’s) relationship through someone else’s eyes, the POVs are spot on, the buildup is fantastic and the angst is just !!!!! delightfully hurtful.
