Let’s start with Arezzo Arezzo is a place I like to call home, and where the June 2023 Studentessa Matta Program will occur from June June 11 - 23. Arezzo is a city that will never disappoint you. It is full of beauty, history and Italian culture waiting to be discovered. Imagine walking through its cobbled streets, surrounded by ancient palaces and medieval towers, with the scent of fresh coffee and freshly baked pastries wafting through the air. Arezzo is not only beautiful, but it is also full of life! It has many hidden gems waiting to be discovered, from the stunning frescoes of the Basilica di San Francesco, the Roman amphitheater, and the panoramic views of the Medici Fortress. There are colorful markets, unique shops, cozy cafes, and the park near the Duomo, where you can sit and people-watch. And don’t forget the cooking! Arezzo is famous for its delicious Tuscan cuisines, such as thinly sliced steak with rosemary and all the fresh pasta dishes we will make with Chef Lala that will make your mouth water. Arezzo also knows how to party! The town hosts various festivals and events throughout the year but is best known for the medieval jousting tournament, the Giostra del Saracino.
