My husband and I share a birthday — yes, same year and everything. No, we were not born at the same hospital.
I don’t know how to swim, which is problematic since swimming is a requirement for graduation from my alma mater. I took the swim class for the terrified as an undergrad and was so hopeless that I think the instructor passed me out of pity. Since then, I’ve taken swim classes twice more, at the YMCA, and I still haven’t quite figured it out. One day, perhaps…
I learned how to read when I was two years old. My parents used to read to me often, and one day they asked me to read them my favorite book, and I did. My dad said I must have memorized it, handed me a Reader’s Digest, and asked me to read them THAT…and I did. I can’t remember not knowing how to read or write. My older daughter also read at age two…wonder whether it’s a quirk of genetics somehow.
I qualified for a novice-class ham radio license in the 90s, but I couldn’t afford a radio. The only time I ever used my license was at the university’s radio shack. Sadly, I let my license lapse and never renewed it.
I hold a minor in music theory and composition.
