"I thought you were dead!"
…He certainly felt like he should be.
One minute he was taken by surprise by someone’s hand wrapping over his mouth and a piercing pain in his back, and the next he was… here, laying in the alleyway with the Burmecian woman looming over him.
His head hurt more than ever now— probably from hitting the ground too hard— but that wasn’t what hurt the most. two, four, six points on his back that shifted between stinging with a burning pain and feeling completely numb. His clothing was sticky, and all he could smell was… tin or something. He was too disoriented to realize that was the smell of blood yet.
He wasn’t sure if Freya’s tone was disappointed or relieved when he came to. He wasn’t sure about anyone at the moment. All he knew was that she certainly wasn’t the culprit. He recognized her, and knew imagine why she would want to kill him. But what kind of person she was beyond that, he had no clue. As far as he knew, everyone besides Kure probably wanted to see him dead. He knew why, too. That’s why his first response, even if he could barely speak, had to be, ”is that… a bad thing…?”
