hey idk if you know the answer to this but I found the link on that post kinda confusing, do you know if this goes for private schools too? cause I have this one teacher who does this at least 3-4 times per week and I hate it

Okay, a few things.

First off, anything that applies to public schools as educational regulations does not apply to private schools. Other things such as laws regarding working with children, sanitation, etc still aply. But education regulations for private schools are different.

Secondly precedent stands against the “peer grading is illegal” interpretation of the statute: courts have ruled that peer grading is acceptable. If you are going to take this complaint to your teachers, you must be prepared to argue against precedent, and will need appropriate citations and evidence to do so.

Thirdly, I wish you all the best in your attempt to make your particular school stop relying on humiliation tactics to “motivate” students! It will not be an easy road, since so much of today’s society seems to rest on the idea that no one will do anything unless they are tortured into it, but have faith that you are moving in the right directions, and eventually everyone else will have to move to!
