Huh, I should blog about this.
So, I'm trucking along on experience and blogging.
This process so far has been so rewarding~! I highly recommend people having more sleepovers in their regular life. I think it will bring you joy and closer connections with the people in your life. This project is like a mini vacation.
It is like curling up with your favourite book by a fire place. It is like meditation. It is like going to an amusement part. It is like boy scouts camping trip. It is like seeing the stars clear across the sky. It is like partaking in a political debate. It is like writing an exam in your favourite subject in school. It is like attending a comedy show. It is like having home cooked meals with your family. It is like experiencing your first kiss, or actually experiencing a first kiss.
When I first started thinking about this project and bouncing off ideas to people about it, I thought it would be more like this:
Only 30 individuals. 30 nights sleeping over at my home/bed. No repeats.
But it has been more like the metaphors above. This project has taken on so many curves and potentials. This experience has been much more than I bargained for. This creative exchange on what people bring to it has thoroughly impressed and has inspired me. I'm grateful that I had more than 30 people want to sign up.
So, the signing up. By November 7, 2013 I had all of my nights booked. Then I had more requests and I wanted to make them all happen. There were some folk that had double booked me for certain sleepovers, so I had to cancel a few and fill in others. I think it has worked out all good.
Huh, I should blog more. On to the next night of sleepovers!
Your Sleepover Friend,
