i feel like sylvain wouldn't have internalized homophobia in the traditional sense but more like. the idea of loving a man and a man loving him back would entirely ruin the narrative he has about only being desired for his crest, because in fodlans power structure, what would a man have to gain from being with him??? so instead he represses it and does other shit like promising his childhood best friend that they'll stick together until they die. go figure
