lone star is a fucking fascinating show cause it can have incredible performances/writing/production value in some scenes, and then ...less than incredible of the same in another scene, and yet half the time its the exact same team making it all

#make it make sense #its bizarre #the last couple eps have had scenes where you can SENSE where theyre trying to take it #and you can see them use the same toolkit in another scene and it works brilliantly #but theres just something missing #in this other scene #whether thats something in the writing - the performance - the editing #its just-- just not quite reaching #I wish I had the words to articulate it clearly #but yeah #I dont want to criticise it too much because I do genuinely think this season is a lot better #in a whole multitude of ways #and honestly this is a problem that is basically only visible because of the improvements theyre making #a has thoughts #s3 chat
