Why Ash Lynx is the most annoying character in BF to me.
I don’t hate Ash Lynx but I do find him to be one of those characters that really tends to avoid concequences for some of his worst choices. Much like Blanca Sergi which is just not very interesting to me personally.
Lets look at the other characters in comparision.
Arthur choose to join Dino which not only eventually leads to his death, the deaths of his gang but before that he losses half of his guys who defect to Ash. As a result of this choice.
Shorter’s involvement with the Lee’s and betrayal of Ash leads to him being captured and experimented on by Banana fish (Even after Shorter tries to atone and protect Eiji I might add)
Sing deciding to mess around with both Yut and Ash by allying with both leads to the death and capture of his guys and the further destruction of Chinatown. Due to his betrayal of Yut Lung. Sing’s choice to keep Lao is the dark results in the death of his brother.
Yut Lung’s capture of Eiji because of his jealousy leading to him being overpowered and taken hostage. Also him snatching the BF samples set Ash and co back in terms of material they could use to bust Dino, making things bad for everyone.
Yut hiring Blanca despite how sus he was resulted in him being betrayed/played. His aillence with Dino caused a rift with Sing. Yut’s murder of his brothers blaming of the Vietnamese caused him to nearly get shot by one of their assassins. Yut Lung choosing to go after Ash in the museum lead to him nearly being tortured and murdered and he was taken hostage also a lot of his men were killed. His jealousy damaged his relationship with Sing perminantly even though Sing came back.
And that’s just the main cast
Fox, Dino, Max ect all have concequences even Cain with his limited screen time had some results of his choices.
Ash’s concequences
Ash ran away from home and got trafficked (Thats where it ends)
(Some could argue him going home lead to Jennifers death indirectly. (Though honestly I don’t think that’s fair and comes from the same mindset that thinks Yut Lung is responsible for Shorter and Lao’s deaths )
Ash choosing to shoot Arthur’s guys he argues with Eiji, Eiji appologizes. Ash goes out and does it again crickets chirp.
Arthur and Ash fight, Ash gets injured but survives despite it being impossible.
Ash turns over BF and all edvidence for Eiji’s safety this has no overall impact on anything! Since Ash gets saved before Dino forces him to do worse, Eiji is left alone. Ash is never treated as culpible for choosing to make the choice to participate in colonalism. Ash’s choice might of had a negative impact on the world but we’re never shown this.
Ash is revealed to have tortured people before once again crickets chirp.
Ash’s choice to keep Lao in the dark could be argued to result in his own death, but the narritive makes it clear Ash could of simply survived again but choose to die for Eiji. Therefore its still not a concequence of Ash’s choices.
