being a system is all fun and games until y’all start arguing on what todays vibe is

im not really an expert when its comes to DID so i always have alot of questions, do alters change appearence when they merge and if so in what ways do they change appearance (i think the term is merging but if im wrong feel free to correct me ) ?

i believe youre thinking of alter fusion !!

since we havent had any fusions, im not sure how to answer this other than from what i learned from other systems and what i found online !

alter can change appearances when they fuse, whether that be their name, pronouns, gender, & what they appear like in the inner world.

it varies for each system, some say that its like 2(or more) alters appearances fused into one (alter 1 has blonde hair, alter 2 has horns, therefore fusion they have blonde hair & horns)

and others say that they look like a whole new person !! (dont mistaken it as splitting)

i shouldve note that WE DO HAVE DSMP FICTIVES and SOME FROM PROBLEMATIC SOURCES

HOWEVER almost (if not all) fictives in our system are *not connected* to their source

despite them coming from these sources, they’re well aware that they’re their own person and not their source

its crazy how every time i read my elementry - middle school journals, i can *see* the OSDD & dissociation forming

its kinda triggering (and cringe kinda) when i read it but it helps me validate myself that im not faking.
