Asra is not much of a follower, never has been and probably never will. This makes it hard for him to develop proper relationships that are founded on trust and acceptance. Even those who managed to latch onto the fire elementalist, who were able to see him in a different light than most people were not lucky enough to earn this privilege.

He cannot be responsible for the actions of other people, cannot bear the guilt that comes with it if something goes wrong, which is something he had to learn the hard way. And just the same he does not wish anyone to trust him blindly for the same reasons.

It would be foolish to trust someone blindly and without any questions. Those who wish to stand beside him can, he will always try to protect the ones he cares about, but he will forever be his own person and that means not following anyone besides himself, for better or for worse.

raquelle’s revolt — what’s something you want that seems out of reach?

“finally, a good question..!” he preferred receiving questions over asking them, he had never been someone to find the right words in the right situation. suddenly, he acted girly, pretended as if he was standing on a big stage, holding a microphone while crying. “world peace. everything i want is world peace.” he slumps back down again, a wide grin spread across his lips.

“actually, i’ve wanted to let my hair grow out for the longest time ever. but with my job and all the fire surrounding me, i don’t really think that it’s a good idea. other things i want are none of your business.” luke makes a wagging motion with his hand, as if to shoo the spade off.

the façade: “I cut ties with my neighbour. Trust me, I really did try to maintain a good relationship with them, but you can only handle listening to poor line recitations from a budding theatre actor at four in the morning for so long”.

the candid truth: “My mother and father - but I didn’t have an option there, they made it for me. I don’t know if they’re living or if they’re dead, but walking flesh or reclined corpse, I have no plans to reconnect”.

"Perhaps the reasons behind why I still don't give my clan an heir." Her features turned grim as if she didn't wish to speak about the subject, and she didn't want to. "I've heard some of my kin saying it's because no one desired to mate with someone so temperamental. True is, my heir will come when I wish to give birth, not when others say it's time." Her answer wasn't sincere (and it was an enormous lie, she indeed had a clock following her steps like a shadow) even if the misinterpretations of her childless state were false, she wouldn't show her vulnerability to anyone who wouldn't deserve it, but deep down, she wished to see the grin of her future offspring.

👑 — What species have you dated?

Sullivan sputtered into his hot cocoa, taken off guard by the sudden unexpected question mid-sip. He cleared his throat as the mug was carefully lowered back down to the table with both hands. Trying to maintain some sort of poise, the Ritualist cast a semi-resentful glance at the inquisitor. He felt like she knew perfectly well the answer to this question but, upon further, albeit momentary reflection, he decided it was as fair for him to assume that as it would be for him to assume the same about her. Truth be told, they’d never discussed such things; openly or otherwise. He was a very private person on most fronts but Max knew him more intimately than most. And, until now, he hadn’t been able to contribute anything from his own experience on this sort of topic. 

By the time he was easing out of that minuscule glare, the corners of his mouth seemed to twitch, threatening to turn upwards instead of staying pressed into a firm line; where he wanted them. He couldn’t help feeling a little happy that Max had bothered to ask. That she realized there was something new aspect to his life and wanted to know more. After a telling sigh, he answered. “I don’t have much preference...or experience when it comes to other species, but so far, Elementalists seem to be nice...quite nice,” he mumbled deeply.

🥁 — What was your biggest accomplishment this year? Failure?

“I dunno” he mumbled around the cigarette dangling from his lips. He hated questions, but he also hated the fact of not being able to find an answer within himself. “Stealing some keys and watching The Academy explode wasn’t really my accomplishment, but it was pretty good to watch” he smiled, smoke filling his lungs before making its way through his nostrils “was able to get in touch with some old pals too, that was” he paused not knowing which word to used, before settling for a terrible one “nice”

Failure

There was a cold laugh stuck on his throat, but it never made its way out. This year had been filled with failure for Asra, not being able to save Allore when he could have so easily tried to rise up in the ranks and mold himself to be the picture of a perfect suitor, he had managed to get more blood on his hands this year than the previous ones and on top of it all he felt like his connection with his element was becoming unbalanced again, only because he put too much faith on other people and things instead of himself. In short, Asra wasn’t happy about his choices this year, but instead of voicing all of that, all that came out of his mouth was a “Is this some kind of therapy session that I have no idea of signing up for?”

🔥 — Describe a mistake you made this last year.

Rei thinks her biggest mistake happened in the latest half of the year. Bumping into your ex and making a fool of yourself isn’t the greatest but on top of that, she just had a terrible day that specific day. She wasted drinking water and basically had a mild breakdown so that was terrible for her.

21 December 2020; Midday Yeon Nen; The Wild Hunt

With the feast neatly wrapped, Jihoon was free. Platitudes had been exchanged, tensions had been danced around, and a gloriously welcome nothing had happened. Unexpected and frankly alarming given the way the rest of the year had gone, the General’s plan was to leave before anyone got any ideas. Besides, with this many drunken hunters about paired with the corruption, he doubted he’d be able to hunt anything of note. So, why bother?

He sent today’s squires to go disassemble the tent he’d been using. The rest of the Spade tents would remain up for the hunters participating in the Wild Hunt but the Spellsword wanted to make it clear he was no longer present. His early departure would no doubt insult the few who he hadn’t spoken to yet, but at this point if he hadn’t spoken to them they probably didn’t matter. 

Adjusting the sword on his hip, Jihoon scanned the crowd of Spade Facecards preparing to head out on the hunt. Without any direction from him, they’d fallen into pairs and groups of friends who worked together regularly. He smiled to himself, proud of the unity that demonstrated; he should really look into hosting an event for his people to relax. Perhaps during the new year. When his eyes landed on Maxine the smile softened fractionally. Of course she was headed out on the hunt. He made his way over to her, nodding his head in greeting to the soldiers he passed until he was beside the healer.
