Ryoma got a whole-ass mafia angry with him, they killed his family, he sent his girlfriend off to escape the massacre, they found her anyway, and so for revenge, he killed the whole mafia.
...Metal.
Okay, but, seriously. I have so many emotions going through me right now. And that's not even the last conversation you can have with him.
[fnv fic. somewhat based on the lonesome road dlc, after getting through the divide, plus a small mention of the “What’s a Chicago?” dialogue.]
“No, ED-E, I really don’t know what a Chicago is,” Vera replied with a huff.
ED-E beeped earnestly at her, before bunting himself gently against her head. She let out a brief laugh as she patted his dust covered body. “Maybe, when all is done, we’ll travel there...” The courier looked at the blockade between her and The Divide, remembering the words of her fellow courier that she met at the end of the long road.
“I still can’t remember what had happened, not clearly anyway, but I made a promise, didn’t I? That I will do what I can to prevent history from repeating?” She took in a deep breath while tracing the scar marked on her forehead. “This land, the entire Mojave Wasteland, belongs to no one. Not the NCR, nor the Legion. There will be no ‘Gods’, or ‘Masters’.”
Vera looked up at the ED-E with a smile, paired with eyes that shine like fire. “Come on, little guy, we got some work to do.”
The eyebot blared out battle music from his speakers, making her laugh, before they both turned away from the blockade, and headed back to New Vegas. There were still things that was left unfounded in The Divide, memories of back before it was destroyed, and possible upgrades for the eyebot himself. The two knew this, but there will be a time they will return.
But, for now, there are still many things that had to be done. Careful planning for a possible bright future for the Mojave, that will require a lot of sacrifice, and hopefully plenty of saving, in between the blood, sweat, and tears. It would be difficult, Vera thought, but not impossible. After all, if what had happened before is true, that she had brought a package that destroyed an entire piece of land, then anything is possible.
