No I understand and you but all my thoughts into better words for that post. I’ve seen a change in they way people treat the gay community because of this show and they say it’s for the love of the gays but really it hurts the cause.
It really does. It even caters towards the idea that sexuality is a choice if someone is confirmed to be straight but because a bunch of people want them to be gay, and then they "become gay", that makes it a choice. It belittles the idea of equality among sexual orientation. That makes every gay person doing it for attention. That makes the idea of sexuality something that isn't personal anymore, and something that makes you want to fit in or stand out. It means making sexuality not something that can't be controlled, like a person's race, but something that can, like their sense of style.
And it divides everyone. It's saying that if you support LGBT rights, you're gay. It's saying you can't support something you're not. It's making it something exclusive which is going against the idea of equality. We are all humans. We are all born with our sexuality - it is not a choice.
I think I'm getting off topic.
Basically, shoving your opinions of how someone should live their lives down their throats is not the way to achieve equality. It just builds a higher wall.
