Today, June 26th, one of the best stories I’ve ever read celebrates its second anniversary.  

Wicked Game has it complexity; it intertwines itself in a ball of angst, drama, intrigue, adventure and romance. And it has such incredible character arcs, the kind that makes frown upon one character and then chapters later you’re wishing with your entire life that nothing bad happens to them.     

It became one the dearest stories for me, and I hold it close to my heart. I really don’t know what I’ll do once it’s over (probably cry). But in the meantime, I’ll enjoy it.

Well, as you already know @poppysfanworld and I are working in a new HTTYD AU. Poppy is the writer this time and we basically constructed the story together, but the original idea is Poppy’s a 100%. It’s not a joke when I say that yesterday we spend the whole evening talking about this glorious AU and we already know all the conflicts and we have developed most of the secondary characters arcs. 

It was simply great.

For the people who don’t know what’s going with this AU: we already have read many stories about Hiccup running away BEFORE the Kill Ring scene, but what if Hiccup runs away DURING the Kill Ring? What if Berk finds out that Hiccup was training a dragon and has taken the enemy’s side? Hiccup Haddock is traitor and he’s been gone for almost 10 years. But what happened with Astrid Hofferson? She, the one who knew the truth about the dragons thanks to Hiccup, needs to find this boy who brings her something she never had: hope. Astrid lives a double life between secret dragon training on her own and battling a war that she needs to make it end. 

Will she make it?

Tuffnut/Ruffnut  No thanks. I don’t care if people ship incest, but as a twin, it’s really not for me.

Ruffnut is very protective of Tuffnut, and the two are dangerously codependent. Though, as time goes on, she becomes more independent. 

6: one way in which I relate to this character

Twin things! I’m a twin so a lot of the twin interactions make sense. I especially like all the “we shared a womb” jokes. “Oh my god, they were wombmates.”

7: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

Sometimes she’s just a little bit cringey, but I love her anyway.8: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?

Any guilty pleasure?

Normally I’d say writing and reading fanfic is my guilty pleasure, but since this is my fanfiction account, that doesn’t really apply!

Well, then, in the past few days I’ve been listening to this song way more often than I should. 

I have never seen a single Descendants movie, and I don’t think I belong to the target audience. I also have no idea what YouTube rabbit hole I went down in to eventually end up here. 

But gods this song is catchy.

After a time hyping, I can finally reveal my secret project. Here you “I’ll be home for Christmas” cover, a modern Christmas fic of HTTYD. Some of you experienced my last year’s Christmas fic “Canción de Navidad” (A Christmas Carol), which was a Victorian AU. This year you have the chance to repeat it. It will begin this Wednesday, December 18th, and I will publish a chapter every day till Christmas eve. So, don’t doubt to suscribe on FF.net and AO3 and every chapter will be ilustrated. I will post them here and in Instagram, as well as in AO3. This fic will only be published in Spanish, but I leave you the plot: “Astrid Hofferson was a very ambitious woman with a great future until life slapped her in the face and now she’s working as a barista in her childhood’s town. Alone, with a boring routine and with Christmas around the corner, someone from her past reappears asking desperately for her help. Will Astrid be able to help him?”

When I started shipping them: I guess as soon as I started reading proper fanfiction of HTTYD after watching the 1st film.

My thoughts: I love both of them because they can easily break the stereotypical concept of a couple. Also, they have a healthy and beautiful relationship. They are a great couple.

What makes me happy about them: They love each other so much that it hurts.

What makes me sad about them: They don’t have proper romantic scenes through the saga. 

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Astrid being the one who needs to be saved and Hiccup is the hero. 

Things I look for in fanfic: Kinky smut, lots of fluff, angst and a healthy relationship.

My wishlist:

Bisexual Hiccstrid.

Funny Hiccstrid.

Cute Hiccstrid.

Smutty Hiccstrid.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Hiccup with Dagur and Astrid... apart from Ruffnut, who I see her as her best buddie... there is no one good enough for her.

My happily ever after for them: They grow old together and they have one more child. Hiccup passes first, but Astrid passes not long after him. They both have good and painless deaths and they live the Midgar with the feeling that they have done everything they wanted to do together. That’s the only thing I want for them.

Wicked Game Inkotober 14 - Past. ATTENTION! THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS OF WICKED GAME! Although they are not explicit. We all know from the Interlude that Hiccup and Astrid knew each other when Astrid was a baby and they were engaged since her birth. This scene will appear in future chapters of Wicked Game, although I cannot say when. Before you get all excited: no, these are not Hiccstrid’s children in Wicked Game, but Hiccup and Astrid sleeping together when they were little. I’m not really good yet drawing children, but it’s quite obvious that there is a small age gap between then and Astrid looks super adorable in this picture. Even when they where little, these two loved sleeping together, but who can blame then? Baby Astrid loved sleeping with him as he was warm and he smelled good.
