Cool, Calm, Collected || Gio
Maddox had known the story behind Gio's family, so when Mother's Day was drawing near he could only think of one alternative, instead of making the man sit alone on the holiday (not that it was all that celebrated) he'd invite him for a lunch date with his mother. She was Maddox's biggest supporter after all, and he was his biggest client, so it seemed the two should meet. Not to mention Maddox was madly in love with him and refused to leave his side for even a minute. He'd made the arrangements, having made it for a time that worked for both Gio and his mother, and now here they were sitting outside of the quaint diner in Maddox's car. "My mother will love you because I," he stopped himself and patted Gio on the knee, "I like you and I know my mother will too, don't be nervous. Just," he sighed as he unbuckled himself and turned his body so that it was facing the others. "Be on your best behavior alright?" He picked a hand up to cup the others cheek, his thumb brushing against the scruff. "She doesn't know that i'm, that we're," Gio could fill in the blanks and make sense of the fragments better than anyone. "Family means the world to me and you're a part of that world now." Had Maddox ever shared the backstory of being adopted? Having spent most of his childhood in a group home before this family took him in and raised him as their own? "Thank you for agreeing to this, I really appreciate it, I want her to know what a great man you are..." Mostly because eventually he'd be coming out to her that this man was one he intended to spend his life with, that is if Gio would have him for that long.
