i'm like 99% sure he'll be (canonically) alive if only because a) he is gaider's baby and b) he is almost everyone else's baby, too

plus he seemed to be in pretty good shape in the comics ^^

Thanks for answering! I like these ideas a lot. I agree that the chain would be plain yet somehow feature the mabari. Makes me want to get out my sketchpad and attempt to be an artist again lol

What would be your muse's perfect romantic date?

Haha, Inara isn't really very good at romance.

Before she meets Alistair, it's all shallow bullshit to her and she (tells herself) she doesn't need or want it. It's just something she fakes with a smile and a little kiss for the men she woos at the tavern. In addition, she really doesn't feel comfortable when she's under a lot of pressure to act a certain way - like mingling with nobles, or very especially being appropriately emotional and affectionate. It's more of a job than something she would choose to do for fun.

Dating Alistair specifically, who puts a lot of stock in those gestures and events, gives her a little anxiety, which she doesn't cope with well. She spends more time trying to make certain that she's being good to him than enjoying it herself.

So her perfect romantic date wouldn't really be a date at all. "Just hanging out". Maybe a nice warm bath and a night in bed. Time spent expressing affection the most relaxing/fun way she knows how. That would be her perfect date.

Tale of the Warden [ closed - itskatdancer ]

Some people wondered how Varric could stand spending so much time in the Hanged Man, but the dwarf liked to argue that people just didn't appreciate its charm. (By charm, of course, he meant the way one could hide in plain sight, catch up on the latest gossip, and win a man's salary off him in cards. This was the Hanged Man, after all.) It was filthy and smelled foul but there was no place in Kirkwall that the dwarf would rather be.

He liked to pride himself in the fact that he knew all of the locals, and could identify any newcomers before they ordered their first drink. Word travelled fast in Kirkwall. It was a city full of people who liked to talk and all Varric had to do was sit back and listen. It wasn't often that coin was required to loosen tongues in the Hanged Man. Drink usually did that for him.

Tonight, however, there was a definite hush about the place, strange looks cast in the direction of an unfamiliar face. Had their guest been a human, Varric suspected the tavern's denizens wouldn't have paid so much attention to them. The fact that they were both of dwarven lineage and female was more than enough to warrant attention. What made her even more interesting to the rogue was the fact that no one was willing to bother her. There were few people who could command such respect from drunkards. Varric was intrigued (and a little impressed).

Unlike the other tavern folk, the dwarf had no qualms about seating himself across from their guest, easy smile in place as he leaned back comfortably in one of the wooden chairs. "You know, I never knew anyone paid attention when I complained about the lack of proper dwarven girls. What brings an accomplished woman like yourself to Kirkwall?"
